Technologies
The biodiesel industry is faced with the growing demand for more efficient and economical techniques to produce low-cost alternative fuels. Opportunities in the renewable energy arena are dynamic. MEG’s technology portfolio includes:
Novel technologies and processes for producing ASTM D6751 biodiesel from restaurant’s grease trap wastes (brown grease) and other economical feedstocks. The biodiesel industry has suffered from the high cost of its primar
y feedstocks (e.g., soybean oil and canola oil). The employment of secondary feedstocks that are not competitively used for human and animal consumptions for biodiesel production is of economic importance for biodiesel producers. MEG has developed proprietary technologies and processes that can convert restaurant’s grease trap wastes into ASTM biodiesel in high yields. At the present time, MEG is conducting a large-scale pilot test of our processes with our business partner. The test is expected to be completed in next a couple of months and MEG is ready to commercialize its technologies via technology licensing in the spring of 2010.
